WIELS x C for Chocolate

For this project, I designed a series of chocolate boxes in collaboration with WIELS, the leading contemporary art center in Brussels. The goal was to create packaging that does more than just hold pralines—it had to reflect the essence of the museum and become a sensory experience in itself.

Instead of focusing on temporary exhibitions, I explored the architectural and environmental context of WIELS. The industrial entrance, bronze brewing kettles, green tiles, and brutalist aesthetic of the building all played a key role in shaping my concept.

These impressions led to a series of patterns, each inspired by specific elements of the site. I translated these into isometric designs to create visual unity, while also subtly integrating shapes reminiscent of the pralines inside the boxes. This added a tactile, playful layer to the visual identity of the packaging.

Each box is modular in shape, with a pull-out inner tray custom-fitted to the pralines. The inner part was designed in a bronze tone as a nod to the kettles inside the building, adding both elegance and functionality.
